Terms of Service
Last updated: September 2026
These terms form a binding agreement between you and Alistair McKay ("Skyline", "we", "us", "our"), trading as Skyline, governing your use of the Skyline website and the Skyline software-as-a-service platform ("Service"). By creating an account, starting a trial, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these terms.
1. Who you contract with
The Service is provided by Alistair McKay, an individual sole trader based in the United Kingdom. You must have authority to bind your flight school if signing up on its behalf, or be of legal age if signing up as an individual. You can reach us at allymckay5@gmail.com or hello@flyskyline.app.
2. The Service
Skyline is operations software for flight schools: bookings and dispatch scheduling, fleet and maintenance records, student and instructor records, syllabus tracking, and compliance tooling. We continuously improve the Service, and we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that specific features will remain unchanged.
3. Acceptable use
You must not misuse the Service. This includes unlawful use, fraud or spam, infringing third-party intellectual property, or interfering with security (malware, probing, scraping, or circumventing technical limits). You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for activity under your account.
4. Intellectual property
We retain all ownership of the Service and its intellectual property, including software, documentation and branding. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service within your selected plan. You retain all ownership of the data you enter into the Service.
5. Subscription fees, billing and Merchant of Record
Flight schools pay Skyline a software subscription. Our order process for those subscriptions is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
Payment, billing, tax, cancellation and refund mechanics for Skyline subscriptions are governed by Paddle's Checkout Buyer Terms. Subscriptions renew automatically at the interval you selected until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your billing settings or by contacting Paddle. See our Refund Policy.
6. Money your students pay you is not Skyline's
Skyline does not sell flights, lessons, gift vouchers or any other flight school product, and is not a payment processor or payment facilitator. Where a school chooses to use the optional payment tools in the Service, the school is the seller and merchant of record for its own customers, collects the money into its own connected payment account (for example its own Stripe account) or offline, and is solely responsible for its pricing, taxes, consumer terms, chargebacks and refunds.
Paddle is never involved in those school-to-student transactions. Skyline takes no commission or transaction fee on them.
7. Data protection
We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Notice and applicable UK data protection law.
8. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these terms, non-payment of subscription fees, security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. On termination you may export your data for a reasonable period before deletion.
9. Warranties and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Skyline shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data or goodwill. Our aggregate liability is capped at the subscription fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury where the law does not permit exclusion.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Scotland, and the courts of Scotland have jurisdiction over any dispute.
